What if my Beard Octane product doesn't smell as strong as I expected?

Every now and then we hear from someone who expected a scent to be stronger than what they experienced.

In most cases, the product is perfectly normal. Different types of beard care products release fragrance differently because of the ingredients they're made with. Beard oils tend to project fragrance more quickly, while beard balms and buttas naturally hold scent a little closer because of the waxes and butters in the formula.

For balms and buttas, you'll often notice the fragrance becomes more noticeable after scooping out a small amount and warming it between your hands.

It's also worth remembering that everyone's sense of smell is different, and your own body chemistry can influence how you perceive a fragrance.

BEARD CARE

My beard balm or butta became grainy. Is it ruined?

Not at all.

A grainy texture is a completely natural characteristic that can occasionally occur in products containing natural butters like shea, mango, or similar ingredients.

These butters contain different fatty acids that solidify at different temperatures. If the product experiences heat during shipping or storage and cools slowly afterward, those fatty acids can form tiny crystals that create a grainy texture.

The good news?

Nothing about the product's conditioning performance has changed. It's completely safe to use.

How can I fix the texture?

For beard balms or buttas:

• Gently scoop out and melt the product until fully liquefied. (Hint- use a microwave safe cup, NOT the original container)
• Stir it well and then pour it back into the original container.
• Place it in the refrigerator or freezer for an hour or two, so it flash-solidifies.

Cooling it more quickly helps the butters reset into a smoother texture.  Once it's solidified, let it come back to room temp and enjoy!

Should you panic?

Absolutely not.

Natural beard care products soften or melt when exposed to high temperatures—especially during summer shipping or inside delivery trucks.

Simply allow the product to cool.

For beard balms and buttas, placing them in the refrigerator for a short period will quickly restore their normal consistency.

If your butta develops a slightly grainy texture after melting, that's perfectly normal and can happen with natural butters. It does not affect product quality.

Please note: If your deodorant softens during shipping, simply place it in the refrigerator or freezer until firm again. We do not recommend remelting deodorants.

Will beard oil help reduce beard itch?

Absolutely.

Most beard itch is actually dry skin underneath your beard.

A quality beard oil helps moisturize both your skin and beard hair, making your beard softer while reducing dryness, flaking, and irritation.

Beard itch is especially common:

• During the early stages of growing a beard
• During cold, dry weather
• After swimming
• During hot summer months
• If you strip your beard too frequently

Consistent daily use of beard oil goes a long way toward keeping your skin comfortable.

Will beard oil make my beard grow faster?

This is probably one of the most common questions we receive.

The honest answer is no.

No cosmetic beard oil can change your genetics or magically make new beard hair grow.

What beard oil does do is create a healthier environment for your skin and beard by keeping both properly moisturized and conditioned.

Healthier hair is less prone to breakage, looks fuller, feels softer, and is much easier to manage—which often makes it appear thicker and longer over time.

Do your products contain Minoxidil?

No.

None of our products contain Minoxidil or any other pharmaceutical ingredients.

Our products are designed to improve the health, softness, appearance, and manageability of your beard—not function as medications.

Are your products phthalate free?

Yes.

All Beard Octane fragrances are phthalate free.

Do you test on animals?

Never.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes.

If our shipping carriers deliver to your country, chances are we can ship Beard Octane to you.

Please note that customers outside the United States are responsible for any applicable customs duties, VAT, import taxes, brokerage fees, or similar charges assessed by their country or shipping carrier.

These fees are not collected by Beard Octane and vary by destination.

When will my order ship?

Most orders leave our facility within 1–3 business days.

Many orders ship sooner, but because our products are handcrafted in small batches, occasional processing times may vary during major sales or holidays.

Once your order ships, you'll automatically receive tracking information by email.

I received tracking information, but it hasn't updated yet.

Don't worry—this is normal.

When your shipping label is created, tracking information is generated immediately. However, the carrier may not scan the package until it reaches their distribution center.

Please allow approximately 24–48 hours for tracking updates to begin appearing.

If tracking hasn't updated after that time, reach out to us and we'll gladly look into it.

Why was my payment declined?

Payment declines can happen for several reasons.

Common causes include:

• Billing information doesn't match your bank's records.
• Your card issuer declined the transaction.
• Insufficient funds.
• Fraud prevention measures by your financial institution.

Our checkout system also performs several security checks to help protect both our customers and our business from fraudulent transactions.

If everything appears correct but you're still having trouble, feel free to contact us and we'll help you figure it out.

PayPal isn't opening during checkout.

The most common cause is a popup blocker.

Try temporarily disabling any popup blockers for BeardOctane.com and attempt checkout again.

I think I accidentally placed multiple orders.

No worries—it happens.

If you think your order may have been submitted more than once, contact us as soon as possible.

Our customer support team can review your order history, cancel duplicate orders when appropriate, and make sure you're only charged for the order you intended to place.

I never received my order confirmation email.

First, check your Spam, Junk, or Promotions folder.

If you still don't see your confirmation email after several minutes, contact us.

We'll verify your order, resend your confirmation email, and make sure everything is in good shape.

My order hasn't arrived yet.

Start by checking your tracking information.

Most orders are delivered without issue, but occasionally weather, carrier delays, or other shipping circumstances can affect delivery times.

If your tracking appears stalled or something doesn't look right, please contact us.

We'll work with both you and the shipping carrier to determine what's happening and help get your order where it needs to go.

I don't love the scent I ordered.

Fragrance is personal.

What one customer calls their all-time favorite might not be someone else's perfect scent—and that's perfectly okay.
