I've been buying beard octane products since I think late 2018? Pretty early on...in that time I don't think I have ever sat down to write a review of any of their products so this is long overdue.
In that time I have had a short beard, no beard, scruff, a short beard, long beard, and now currently keeping it somewhere between 10-16 inches, depending how smoothly my trim goes.
I have used the oil, butter, balm, wax, LCW, conditioner, leave-in conditioner, a comb or two, a brush, I think the scissors, and uh....that may be it?
To be fair, I have not used many other company's products to compare beard octane to, but I've also had no desire to seek out other products....
I predominantly stick to the unscented products, which are legitimately unscented which I love.
I have tried some of sampler packs of scented/fragranced oils and while I don't prefer scented items, they were still all high quality with scent profiles that matched the associated description.
(Sidenote the Apple pie they had several years ago was AMAZING, please bring that one back....).
Throughout all these years, their products have stayed very consistent, which I am very much appreciative of. Usually when I find a product I actually like it immediately disappears.
None of the unscented products develop a funky smell like some other natural/unscented items I've used in the past.
Everything works exactly as it should.
The butter is also great on your skin if you live in a dry region like I do.
The LCW is also great on your head if you're bald/rocking trimmed hair, it's much gentler than regular shampoo products and doesn't dry out your skin.
The conditioner is great, even my girlfriend agrees.
The leave in conditioner doesn't feel gross or oily and my beard drinks it up quickly and it doesn't hang out for hours like some gross residue caked all over.
I find the balm to be the right consistency for me (pro tip the included guitar pick in the wax tin works great for digging out the balm).
The wax is easy to work with and has a good hold, probably not as rock hard as others, but that's not what I would personally enjoy anyway. Just keep the things in the right places, I'm not styling for a competition.
Also, the humor in the ingredients and instructions gives me a good chuckle.
Also also, bonus points for starting the company on July 4th.
